The Intervention Guide teaches and reinforces essential phonics and reading skills for struggling and dyslexic readers. Each of the 60 lessons sequentially corresponds to Primary Phonics workbooks and storybooks. Interactive coding is assigned to each phonetic rule, encouraging a tactile component that students apply to individual words, phrases, and sentences.
Each lesson includes step-by-step instruction and sample dialogue for teaching new sight words, coding practice, oral and written comprehension, and sentence dictation. Opportunities to extend the lesson include activities and challenge words to ensure mastery of skills, and references to storybook and workbook pages for more practice.
The guide comes with a separate book of Blackline Masters with activity pages and written comprehension questions to support instruction. A word coding poster for classroom reference is also included.
