Workbook K is intended for children who need more phonemic awareness support before proceeding further in the Recipe for Reading series. The 25 lessons provide a child-friendly introduction to the initial consonants and short vowels, through auditory, visual, kinesthetic activities. Engaging mnemonics help students understand and remember letter–sound relationships and letter shapes. Later they practice blending sounds to make words. There are five or six pages of activities for each lesson, giving children ample opportunity for practice.
The workbook can be used with any phonics or core program as additional practice.

Great Resource
The book has large print for smaller children to use more appropriately. The format is easy to see and laid out well on each page. Follows the Orton-Gillingham letters.
