Multisensory Monday: Tic-Tac-TOE for Vowel Team -OE

Posted by Brainspring on 11th Nov 2019

Happy Monday everyone! This week we have a short and sweet activity that is sure to please any student working towards mastering the vowel team -OE!

Make it Multisensory

Vowel team -OE is usually placed at the end of a word or syllable, like in the words toe or toenail. Something creative to say to your students to help them spell words with -OE could be as follows: “your toe is found at the end of your foot, just like -OE is found at the end of a word or syllable.”

Try out the Tic-Tac-Toe game below to practice spelling this pesky vowel team. Hand out one sheet to each set of partners, then play Tic-Tac-Toe, with a twist! One player is “O” and the other is “E”.

This game can be utilized as a quick multisensory activity, or a vowel intensive activity!
