Phonics First® prepares educators to confidently teach structured, multisensory phonics to beginning, struggling, and at-risk readers—including students with dyslexia. This self-paced course delivers the full content of our in-person training in a flexible, interactive online format.

Course Length: 30–32 hours

Access Window: 90 days

Release Schedule: Semi-monthly

Who It’s For

• K–3 & 4–5 General Education (Tier 1 small group)
• K–5 Special Education & Intervention (Tiers 2 & 3; small group or 1:1)
• No prerequisite required

Already Structures® trained?

Level I mirrors the Structures® course. We recommend Level II instead for deeper instruction and expanded application.

What You’ll Learn

• Alphabet & phonological awareness
• Phonetic concepts for decoding and encoding
• Structured review using the Three-Part Drill
• Multisensory spelling techniques
• Syllabication (8 syllable types, 3 patterns)
• Higher-level spelling and connected-text fluency
